Toksy Akinleye

Toksy Akinleye is a dual-board certified family (FNP) and psychiatric (PMHNP) nurse practitioner. She graduated with her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Tech in 2014 and received obtained her post graduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health at UTK in 2023. She has over 15+ yrs of healthcare experience, working in oncology, pain, internal medicine, inpatient psych, and more.
She uses an evidenced-based medical and holistic approach to treatment that includes lifestyle changes, nutrition, meditation and/or breathing/relaxation exercises. She provides medication management and supportive psychotherapy for patients 17 years and older, focusing on depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, psychosis , and more.
She is currently accepting new patients via telehealth services through a HIPAA-compliant video platform in Tennessee. Her telehealth practice is dedicated to helping individuals achieve optimal mental health and wellness all from the comfort of your own home.

Initial Appointment
Your initial visit will be 60-90 minutes (dependent on individual needs). During this visit, an extensive physical and mental health history is obtained. Past and present mental health issues are further explored as well as any past and/or current treatments. We work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan and assist you with your mental health goals.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up appointments typically last around 30-60 minutes (dependent on individual needs) and are tailored to your specific needs and/or goals. We will assess current symptoms, discuss medications that may or may not be working, and ensure for any adjustments in your treatment.
Please note that we do not prescribe a class of medications called Benzodiazepines for anxiety disorders. These medications include: Xanax, Klonopin, and/or Valium. We are happy to discuss alternative medications.
